Leadership Transition

Changes at the Cincinnati House of Prayer
An Open Letter from the Board of Trustees:
Cincinnati House of Prayer is moving into a new and exciting season, and with this new season will come some changes in leadership, too. Rusty will be transitioning from his current position as Executive Director and will continue to serve as an intercessory missionary with the Cincinnati House of Prayer in a spiritual advisory role along with other special assignments.
We are very excited to announce that Walter Barr will step into the role of Executive Director, a position that he is embracing with enthusiasm. Walt has served as an intercessory missionary with Cincinnati House of Prayer for over six years and has worked closely with Rusty in leadership in recent years. He comes to this position with a wealth of experience and depth of passion for prayer and worship in Cincinnati.
Walter Barr has served this region both as a pastor and/or intercessory missionary over the last 8 years. He and his wife Sarah have two children. Walt has proven leadership gifts, vision, and passion that have helped shape nearly every part of the Cincinnati House of Prayer during the last 6 years. He has been a faithful friend and colleague who carries the vision and the values of the house of prayer deeply within. Because of this, we believe he is uniquely qualified to direct the Cincinnati House of Prayer into the next decade.
Rusty will continue serving at Cincinnati House of Prayer as an intercessor and spiritual advisor. He will continue to lead prayer sets and teach classes. In addition, Rusty’s efforts will continue to reach outward towards encouraging and influencing night and day prayer in the city. While this is an extension of what has already been happening over the past several years as Rusty has spoken at and helped to direct various prayer initiatives at different churches and ministries, Rusty will now devote more of his time to serving the broader city, region, and beyond.
We are excited for what God has in store for us and for the house of prayer and praying churches in this city. Ensuring continuity of leadership is a critical objective of our succession planning efforts; therefore we will be working on many details in the weeks and months ahead.
Ten years ago, God clearly invited us to start this worship and prayer environment called the Cincinnati House of Prayer; it’s equally clear to Rusty and the Board that God is initiating this transition now, for C-HOP and for Rusty. With great expectations we look forward to all that God has in store for the future growth of Cincinnati House of Prayer, and more broadly for the house of prayer and praying churches in this region.
Join us in praying for a release of favor and increase!
